April 2006 - Smoke billows over a barren Interstate 95 in Canaveral Groves, Florida. The typically busy expressway was completely closed due to massive brush fires in Port St. John and Canaveral Groves.
September 2005 - Weeks after Hurricane Katrina, Michelle Martin returned to St. Bernard Parish to find that her home of 20 years had been destroyed by mold and water damaged, a result of post-Katrina New Orleans flooding.
July 2006 - Space Shuttle Discovery's parachute deploys as it lands on Wednesday morning at the Kennedy Space Center Shuttle Landing Facility.
November 2005 - Nick DeSocio, Jerry Van Poll and Herman Hampton, all of the Marine Corps League, salute the flag during Brevard Community College's 23rd annual Massing of the Colors. The ceremony took place at the College's Cocoa, Florida campus.

February 2007 - Specialist Ricky Dennull(left) and Specialist Jason Deteso were among those who came to honor Private 1st Class Branden Cummings during funeral services at Brevard Memorial Park. Cummings, 20, died on Valentine's Day when an improvised explosive device exploded near his vehicle.
During a simulated water rescue, Staff Sgt. Rusty Drake(left) and Master Sgt. Jim Johnston(right) tend to "victim", Senior Airman Andy Holzem, on Tuesday evening on the Banana River. The pararescue men from the 308 squadron of the 920th rescue were practicing for the event of an astronaut rescue.
March 2007 - Dottie Jones hugs her daughter Danielle and Ashley after saying goodbye to her husband and their father J.D. Jones at Patrick Air Force on Sunday morning. Two bus loads of troops deployed from Patrick on Sunday morning to perform combat search and rescue in the middle east.
September 2006 - A family lights their candles in honor of those who died on September 11 during a candlelight vigil held on Monday night at Veteran's Memorial Park in Palm Bay.

January 2005 - Antioch Gospel Church pastor Tommie Jordan baptizes 17-year-old Jarrell Douglass in Lake Weir near Sunset Harbor, Florida.
February 2006 - Brevard County Jail Chaplain Russ Williams prays with inmate Mark Rounds in their meeting room, nicknamed "The Closet," on Monday afternoon. Williams and Rounds have been meeting with each other for about two years now.
March 2006 - 25-year-old Justin Heyne is taken into custody on Moon Rd. in Titusville after Benjamin Hamilton, Sarah Buckowski and their 5-year-old daughter Ivory Hamilton were found shot in their home. All three victims died from their wounds and Heyne stands accused of their murders. His trial is set to begin in April 2009.
September 2006 - Helia Hamilton sits on a bench marked with the name of her cousin, Ivory Hamilton, who was murdered with her parents in the spring of 2006. On what would have been Ivory Hamilton's 6th birthday, friends and family members gathered at the family's Titusville gravesite to remember Ivory and her parents.
